On Whit Monday, 20 May 2024 at 16:00, the traditional concert will once again take place in the pilgrimage chapel of St. Jost, this time with a special reference to the feast day.

In keeping with the tradition of the Whitsun bonfire, the programme will also be somewhat "fiery".

Individual movements from Handel's "Fireworks Music" will be performed and one of his "German Arias" sings of the "flaming rose, ornament of the earth".

In two of Felix Mendelssohn's "Songs without Words", the title of the performance is "con fuoco" - this music should be played with emotional fire.

And in an aria by Bach, the singer's notes "flicker" up to a high Bb! Maximilian Fieth is the tenor who can achieve this.

Also performing are Ulrike Friedrich (flute), Brigitta Winnen (violin), Mizuki Ideue (cello) and Nadzeya Karakulka (cimbalom). Johannes Geffert (harpsichord) will also be the entertaining host of the programme.
