Wallfahrtskapelle "St. Jost" in Langenfeld

Langenfeld

St. Jost is a district of Langenfeld and is located in the romantic Nitztal valley. Next to the old former mill (now a privately owned house) there is the pilgrimage chapel of St. Jost, dedicated to St. Jodokus, directly on the river Nitz.

Every year on the last two weekends of September and the first two weekends in October, pilgrimages to St. Jost take place, in which everyone can participate.

The rooms of the pilgrimage chapel in St. Jost also provide the setting for a "Baroque Concert", which has been very popular for several years and takes place every year on Pentecost Monday.

But also guests who just want to enjoy peace and quiet, the pilgrimage chapel in St. Jost, simply due to its idyllic location, offers a unique opportunity for reflection.

The chapel can also be reached on foot, for example via the "Jodokusweg".

Nearby is also the "Grube Bendisberg", which offers fantastic insights into the interior of the earth.

Half-timbered village Monreal

The narrow streets of Monreal, its quaint Holy Trinity Church, the massive Nepomuk Bridge over the clear flowing Elzbach and the ruins of Löwenburg and Philippsburg castles high above the town are a perfect destination for an excursion in the eastern Eifel. The red and white half-timbered houses nestle closely together in the former cloth-making town. Not only visually is Monreal an excursion destination that relaxes the soul. Café Plüsch with its cosy interior or the former signal box at the gates of the town are perfect addresses for foodies. The highlight for lovers of handicrafts is the pottery in the old school. Hikers get their money's worth on the Monrealer Ritterschlag hiking trail and are rewarded for the sometimes steep passages with wonderful views.
