Traumpfad Booser Doppelmaartour
Boos
From the hiking parking lot at the "Booser Doppelmaar" volcano park station, a narrow path initially leads along the western dry maar - a wide, quiet crater that looks like a window into the volcanic past. The path climbs towards Unterschemel, from where the silhouette of the Nürburg ruins comes into view.
A short, steep climb takes you up to the edge of the crater. There, a refuge invites you to take a break - with sweeping views over the village of Boos and the Eifel landscape. The trail now plunges into a quiet forest, past old burial mounds, relics of times gone by.
A forest-lined hollow path leads you down into the idyllic Nitzbach valley with its natural stream. Along the way, you will be impressed by the sweeping views of Nitz, Drees and Wanderath. The return route runs along the gentle meanders of the Nitzbach stream back to the starting point.
