Nachtsheimer Strühmannspettje
Nachtsheim
The circular trail is around 12 kilometers long and takes hikers around the village of Nachtsheim. The trail can be reached from the parking lot at the Realschule Plus via a 600-metre-long access road. If you want to shorten the trail, you can return to the starting point at the parking lot after around 6 kilometers. However, it is also possible to return to the town center at many points along the way.
The small Strühmann logo marks the way.
The "Nachtsheimer Strühmannspettje" first leads down into the "Mimbachtal" and after a short ascent to the "Heinzelmännchens Höhle". On the benches on the slope above the cave, you have a great view over the "Mimbachtal". After a further ascent, there is a rest stop and plenty of opportunities for children to play, some of which are close to nature. After crossing a small valley, you come to a place where - according to legend - the building material for a planned church magically disappeared shortly before construction began. The "Nachtsheimer Strühmannspettje" then continues into the "Wiesbachtal".
After ascending the valley, you reach the "witch burning" station. At this place of dark history, there is not only a place to sit, but also the "Tower of Life", in which numerous insect species have found a home, and along the Virneburg border the path leads to a Mother of God depicted in the rock (Mother of God Grotto "Im Kesselchen"). From there, the trail first leads to the Roman quarry and on to the Roman burial mounds before ascending to the "Auf de Worth" memorial cross, the highest point of the trail. You descend via the Tannenweg trail back to the starting point at the Realschule Plus in the town center.
Along the way, numerous benches with fantastic views offer the opportunity to rest and relax.
In Nachtsheim there is also a bakery and the Gasthof Lavendel with delicious food and overnight accommodation.

Only stay on the marked paths.
Especially in the fall, be aware that leaves lying on the ground can hide bumps, roots, etc. on the path.
