Besucherbergwerk "Grube Bendisberg" in Langenfeld
Langenfeld
*** All guided tours by appointment only ***
The three-stage visitor mine "Grube Bendisberg" offers fantastic insights into the interior of the earth.
The narrow tunnels and drifts, explosives and reel chambers, rollers, shafts and ore passages as well as the mineral stains in the Bendisberg mine can be visited by anyone and we can assure you it will be a unique experience for you, no matter how big or small!
- You prefer a quiet tour? Then take part in the standard tour which only takes place in the middle gallery. But standard does not mean boring! For children, there's the dwarf search, and who can say that they've ever travelled through a mine in a lorry?
- Are you real adventurers? Then we can offer you the Three Adit Tour, where you climb a few metres up the mountain on a 53m-high spiral staircase with 270 steps to the lower adit, or up the mountain from the middle to the upper adit on a serpentine path. Or how about a butt leather tour? You don't know what that is? Then you can't wait to see what's in store for you.
On all guided tours, a hand-built, detailed model is used to explain in advance exactly where you will be in the mine. Before you enter the mine, you will be equipped with a helmet and a light and learn how and from when mining took place there. The Celts were in the game, the Romans too perhaps? You can find out more from the mine guides at the Bendisberg mine.
Children under the age of 13 can only enter the Middle Iron Hero Mine.
The current prices can be found on the website of the visitor mine.
As the "Bergmannshütte" restaurant located directly at the mine is unfortunately currently closed, please remember to bring sufficient food and drink.
